This gold ring with a green stone that was owned and worn by the Godfather of Soul James Brown. The ring came from Clarine M. Pate who was the wife of Irwin Pate who worked as James Brown's Booking and Promotional manager in the 1960's. This ring defined Brown's style as he was more than flashy. I haven't had the gold tested in the ring to see what karat weight it is and even if it is actual gold. There is a faint stamping on the side of the ring that has all but worn off from usage as seen in the pictures.
 
It comes with one letter from Clarine M. Pate on James Brown productions letter head and a letter from Gotta Have Rock and Roll.
